Hello everyone! My name is Mikaela Stiner, and I am the English language assistant at IES José Castillo Puche this school year.
I am from the United States of America. I grew up in a small town in New Jersey called Phillipsburg, surrounded by farmland. After graduating from high school, I lived in the Adirondack Mountains of New York for one year, and then attended a university in Virginia, where I graduated with a degree in journalism. I have also lived in Amman, Jordan, and Tunis, Tunisia.
I love music—both listening and playing. I played the violin and did musical theatre in high school, and now I sing and play the guitar and piano, mostly just for fun. I also love reading poetry, nonfiction, and fiction, and writing creatively. Hiking and doing yoga are also activities that I regularly enjoy—for the past two summers, I have camped and backpacked throughout the East Coast.
I am excited to be living in Spain! I'm looking forward to traveling to different parts of the country, eating Spanish food, learning some Spanish, and getting to know and work with the students and teachers here at school.
Thanks!
Mikaela
